How to Add a Featured Content Glider to Your Home Page
If you look at the home page of this site, you’ll see the featured content glider. It’s easy to add one of these gliders to your site, and here’s how to do it.
Step 1 – Select Some Posts That You Want to Feature
If you want a post to appear in the featured content glider, simply tag it with the tag “featured” or “Featured”. By default, the theme is set to display the 6 most recent posts that have been tagged in this way. You can increase or decrease that number on the Theme Settings Page. NOTE: The slug for the “featured” tag must be featured for the featured slider to show posts. If this is not possible, you may instead replace “featured” with “featured-2” (or the current post tag slug) in the features.php template.
Step 2 – Be Sure to use Properly Sized Images for Your Featured Content
The way the theme is designed, the ideal size for any images you upload are as follows:
Width: 500px
Height: 300px
The dimensions can be larger than that as long as the width-to-height ratio is 5:3.
Step 3 – Activate the Featured Content Glider on the Theme Settings Page
After you’ve selected some content for the featured content section, you’ll need to activate the featured content glider on the Theme Settings Page under “Home Page Post Settings.” Look for the the line: “Featured Content on Home Page,” and change the setting to “yes.”
