How to Create a Site Map Page

You may have noticed the Site Map page on this site. That’s done with the built-in Site Map page template, and it’s easy for you to create this page on your own site.

Note: This is not to be confused with a site map generator, which is used for creating an XML site map that gets submitted to search engines. The Site Map template included in this theme is for your visitors.

Step 1 – Write a New Page

Just click the “Add New” link under the Pages tab in your WordPress Dashboard. Be sure to give your page a page title by filling in the Title field. You don’t need to write any content in the post editor box unless you want to do so.

Step 2 – Assign the Site Map or Tabbed Archive Page Template to your Page

On the right side of you Add Page screen, under Page Attributes, you’ll see a drop-down box titled “Template.” From the drop-down list, select “Site Map,” and click the Publish button.
